THE BOSS OF TRICKY RUINS

The last skip in the game, Tricky Ruins Skip stops the player from having to beat Gooper Blooper once again on the highest cliff of Noki Bay by clipping into the wall and going straight to the shine. This skip is also a lot easier than it may seem and has very easy visual cues. Besides the clip this level has very difficult movement only less than Noki 6, and is even faster than Noki 1 thanks to the absence of goop.

EXPLANATION

Cliff Jumps

Going up the cliff with wall jumps is very difficult and will probably require some practicing. I wouldn't recommend learning this right away. The most optimal way to get to the cliff is to waterslide on the spawn platform and roll out from the smaller platform (see example). Once you get between the walls do a sideflip toward the right wall. This sideflip, due to the angle of the walls, if you sideflip parallel to the wall in front of you, you will end up falling off the wall. In order to get the correct angle, sideflip slightly forward and toward the right wall (see below). Once at the top of the walls, you will have to buffer a spin jump to wall jump of of the next platform. Often times, you will have drifted a bit outward while jumping up and will need to change directions. In order to do this, spin the control stick in mid-air and hold in the direction you want to go. After Mario has been on the ground and changed his direction, press A

Running with Slope Momentum

When Mario rolls out onto a steep slope such as the one leading up to the second wheel, he will gain a lot of extra speed.

Double Jumping off of the Steep Slope

The optimal way to get to the area above the slope is to do a double jump into a walkick. Since you will have slope momentum and Mario will be running fast, you will have to slow him down before hitting the wall or he will bonk. Getting a walljump is not based on what type of movement you do, it is based on the speed at which you hit the wall. You can even walljump after a rollout if you slow down.

Executing the Clip

Once you grab the spring, head over to the corner you need to clip through and run at it holding forward. If Mario starts pushing against the wall, turn the camera so Mario runs more toward the other wall. You should find an angle between the two walls where Mario is not pushing on it and will run normally against the corner. When running like this, keep holding forward and drop the spring. If you dive immediately after clipping, you can get directly into the cave with the shine, however I would recommending hovering a bit to make absolutely sure you get there
