THE HOTEL LOBBY'S SECRET

ホテルのロビーのヒミツ

A secret that retains its difficulty through changes in skill level, Sirena 2 can be a bit difficult to get for the first time, especially the spinjump at the start, although it does get a bit easier with practice. I find this is one of the levels I practice the most before runs.

EXAMPLE

---Entry---

Sirena Entry Movement

As every level in Sirena Beach involves talking to the Hotel Manager, they all have the same beginning movement. The most efficient is to do a dive rollout in the Up Right direction, and to do a single jump, while spraying, towards the stairs and dive into the water. It can be tricky at first, but only changes based on the length of the rollout

Railing Kicks

I would recommend learning some form of railing kicks as soon as you start playing, as spraying the boos every time can be slow. For beginners it is perfectly acceptable to wait for a boo to pass before proceeding (as I do in the example). I only recommend learning the more complex and optimal railing kicks when you feel confident in spinjumps and wall kicks. In order to do the harder variety, start by hoversliding toward the square platform in the middle of the lobby. Rollout onto the furthest side of this platform and spinjump. You may have to adjust direction depending on boo RNG. After this first railing the wall kicks should be easy, however when first learning this strat it does save much more time to hover onto the second floor and play it safe than falling all the way back down.

---Secret---

Beginning Spinjump

When spin jumping onto the brick platform, in order to get the correct direction, spin the control stick before landing, hold the stick in the direction you want to jump and after Mario turns press A

Triple Jumps

This level uses two 'abnormal' triple jumps, where Mario does not do two jumps beforehand. Triple jumps also occur after a spinjump or after landing on an enemy or NPC (Non-Player Character Ex: piantas, nokis). This includes a spin done in mid-air regardless of the jump it is part of.

Smashing the Bricks

The most optimal way to smash the bricks, after the first one, is to use spinjumps. Spinjumps allow Mario to get enough speed off the brick to walljump into the next, skipping landing on the ground after every brick

Momentum Spin

To do the momentum spin at the end of the level, wait one quarter turn of the gear. Once the next slope is steep enough dive onto it while spinning the control stick and spam A. If done correctly this should be a good setup for a triple jump dive on the sand blocks
